Frequently Asked Questions for Novices Making Candles
Why is the wax liquid not pure white after solidification, but a little yellow?
Reason 1: In the process of melting wax, heating is continued, and the temperature is too high, which causes the wax liquid to change in quality, showing a light yellow color. (This is also most of the reason for the yellowing of candles)
Solution: When the candle is melting and only a small piece of wax remains, remove the pot from the stove and use the residual temperature to melt the remaining wax to avoid yellowing of the wax liquid at too high a temperature.
Reason 2: wax material problem
To make candles, you must choose a good wax material. Some inferior products on the market have a yellowish color.
Solution: The ratio of wax material is also very important. The general ratio is 40 soy wax: 60 white beeswax. If soy wax is used purely, it is more likely to turn yellow if the temperature is not well controlled. Some soy waxes are yellowish by themselves, so white beeswax is needed to reconcile it.
Reason 3: Yellow paint is stained
Solution: Remember to wash your hands and tools to avoid cross-color when melting wax.
After understanding these issues, you can pour wax liquid into the glass jars.
